First things first. There are more roosters and chickens on Kauai than people. Everywhere we were, driving, beaching, hiking... they were right there next to us. If you look carefully, every photo here has a rooster/chicken in it.
We landed to perfect weather and picked up our snazzy car.
Here's where we stayed. We rented a room in this semi-apartment which was situated in a quaint neighborhood on the west end of Poipu Beach.
Here's the view of our street.
The houses across the street from us were directly on the beach. Here is the garage of these poor folks. Even their cars get great views.
Our upstairs bedroom was great. We had sneak-a-peek views of the ocean. And all night, the sound of waves crashing on the shore... a gentle breeze blowing in. Simply perfect.
We left our bags in the room and headed out to explore the neighborhood and it's little beach.
We pretty much spent every sunset on this small sandy beach. Generally there weren't too many tourists here; just the locals.
